Extra information for teachers Objectwise programs
Object wise brings:
- a hybrid application: transcends space, transcends subject matter, transcends level, transcends sector, school-wide applicable, circular program, options for the teacher, differentiated learning. Objects can be examined from different angles, in terms of their social, cultural, societal and economic function.
Object wise also has 'Carte Blanche' cards where there is room for your own research questions, source references or other elaborations for those who really want to give their own interpretation.
- look and think differently: awareness of choices, asking critical questions/research
- get acquainted with different aspects by design: different design methods, researching, designing, applying new technologies
- deploying creativity and imagination: to imagine the past, to empathize with an object, to speculate the possibilities of the future.
- learning as a broad concept: in dialogue with the world around you; together with other students, objects, experts, both within and outside, in the past, present and future, with autonomy and in meaningful interaction, in involvement and joint responsibility
Execution Object wise:
Objectwise is designed in such a way that it can be easily used by the teacher and useful in the classroom without the need for extra time for preparation.
In the introduction workshop for the lecturer is responsible for the implementation of the programme, the formulation of research questions, design techniques and the use of new techniques on the agenda.
Leids Cultuurmenu and Objectwijs in Eigen Stad are programs that can be fully performed by Makers of Tomorrow. Of course it is also possible to play a role in this as a teacher.
It is also possible to arrange separate workshops in the classroom on specific components.
Time planning Object wise:
The time it takes to run the Object Pointers depends on many factors. The object-maps are intended to provide a framework in the implementation of the programs within which there is room for individual interpretation and options, either by the teacher or by the students themselves. With this we want to make Objectwijs accessible to as many students as possible and make it as easy as possible for teachers to schedule Objectwijs when desired. This way you can fill individual hours, parts of days or days, or an entire project week.
Research questions can be limited to a few questions or a single field or several fields can be reviewed. There even is room for students to formulate their own research questions.
During the interview, the number of questions that the object has to answer is important and you can choose to use the Object Maps, but also to come up with additional questions for the object yourself.
With regard to the future, designing and making an exhibition, design techniques can be briefly mentioned, but it is also possible to use an extra workshop Design techniques by the Makers of Tomorrow.
Depending on the items to be exhibited, the created objects or also extra film and footage of the process will depend on the time of the creation.

Movie and video
With a future-oriented educational offer belongs to an organization of the school that enables students to learn less in terms of place and time.
Film and video is an essential part of Objectwijs. The world of children and young people has changed a lot in recent years. Image (on screen) has become a permanent part of their experience. Not only at home, but also outside the door and in education.
In order to be part of the young person's experience as a school, you will have to speak the same language: visual language. Objectwijs also offers a connection between the physical and digital world by connecting physical objects and teaching materials with video and blended learning in order to make a good connection with the perception of teenagers and young people.
Evaluation & Reflection
Are you curious about what your Objectwijs students learn? We can use the Have You Learned Enough Today App for that. This gives the opportunity to evaluate anonymously in seconds in 2 short questions with just the push of a button. Have you learned enough today? Yes/no, please rate.
Possibly a third question can be asked: What can we do to give you a higher score next x?
In this way it is possible to adjust where necessary after each meeting and to keep track of where the motivation and challenge are without any additional effort required for evaluation.
